Reggie came to me with the inspiration image of "Serpiente de Dos Cabezas" (Two-headed Serpent) that derives from the Aztec Culture. This sacred creature was regarded as skillful and fearless.
Taking the inspiration of this form and my client's desired scale based on another necklace they own, we collaborated on some quick sketches to hone in on the design idea, then I put together a sketch for him to approve. The sketch included a couple of options, but ultimately decided on this combination of techniques.
This piece is finished with hand stippling, hand-applied gold flakes, & custom gold connectors.
Materials: 1/4" black leather, 14k gold filled large clasp, gold plated findings, faux gold flakes, & black polymer clay.
