About

UOUS: pronounced (you-us)

Meaning the 'state or quality of', you can find this suffix in words like 'continuous' and 'sensuous'. I found this suffix quite fitting and fun as it followed my intent in starting this brand in both form and function.

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, I am a second generation Mexican-American and the first in my family to go straight to a university right out of high school. I went to ASU and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. I discovered my love for clay back in high school while taking ceramic classes. Special thanks goes out to Ms. Polbratek, who allowed me the freedom to explore my creativity at my own pace, with all the encouragement in the world.

Then in 2018, I discovered polymer clay and that's when my imagination ran wild as I could once again play with clay but be able to cure it at home without a kiln. Working as an interior designer, there were times where I didn't get to flex my creative muscles during certain phases of design. So I found this medium to be a great outlet for that and started making pieces for myself, friends and family.

After eight years working on the interiors for airports, offices, healthcare facilities, data centers, and restaurants, the pandemic opened a unique opportunity to develop my brand and launch! I couldn’t be happier to have my own jewelry business, and so thankful to find a new opportunity to work part-time as an interior designer still. It’s truly the best of both worlds, as I draw so much inspiration for jewelry from interior design - both being very much about the form.

Combining skills from my interior design background along with my love for art, nature, design and fashion is the foundation of my brand. It’s for anyone who loves art & design, appreciates handmade products, and wants to make their own statement in the world. My core designs are meant to be eye-catching through their shape and form (versus the use of colors), which allows you to pair them with nearly any outfit. I love to see how you make these earrings your own. It's also the reason I offer modifications to my designs and love to collaborate and make custom pieces just for you!

Each piece is made to the highest quality possible with a hand-sculpted touch of love. I am thankful to have the opportunity to be able to see where this takes me and thankful for you to have visited my site and hopefully learned a little of what I'm about. I hope you continue to see where my journey goes as I have many ideas that I can't wait to share with you!

~My Statement in Sustainability & Equality~

Sustainability: Polymer clay contains a basis of PVC resin that isn't sustainable as it takes a very long time to decompose. That is why it is so important to me to produce consciously. I sustainably design everything by producing in small batches, using monochromatic colors for less clay waste, use recycled boxes, and maximize the use of production materials. I consistently look and learn to find the best ways to make these so that they'll last forever. Quality over quantity.

Equality: My designs are meant for EVERYONE. No matter how you identify yourself, it is my goal to allow you to express yourself freely. I come from a place of love, positivity, and empowerment, and I hope you do too.
